A robust serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and a strongly modeled, slightly calligraphic construction. The serifs read as sharp wedges with subtle bracketing, giving strokes a carved, sculptural finish rather than a flat slab. Uppercase forms are broad and steady with generous bowls (notably in B, D, O) and crisp joints, while lowercase shows compact, sturdy shapes with a two-storey a and g, a small-e eye, and a narrow, upright f. Terminals frequently end in triangular or beak-like cuts, and curves transition quickly into vertical stems, creating a rhythmic, high-contrast texture. Numerals are similarly emphatic, with sturdy shapes and distinctive angled details (e.g., the 1 and 7) that echo the serif language.

Best suited to headlines, subheads, and short blocks of text where a classic serif voice needs extra impact—magazine layouts, book covers, cultural posters, and branding that leans traditional. It can also work for pull quotes or section openers where a dense, dramatic typographic color is desirable.

The overall tone is traditional and editorial, with an authoritative, bookish presence. Its sharp, chiseled finishing and strong contrast add a dramatic, slightly theatrical flavor that feels confident and declarative rather than delicate.

The design appears intended as a conventional serif for editorial use, emphasizing classic proportions while heightening contrast and sharpening serif forms to create a bold, attention-holding texture in display and headline typography.

At display sizes the sharp wedge serifs and brisk contrast read very clearly, producing a dark, energetic page color. In tighter settings, the strong internal shapes and small counters (especially in e, a, s) can make the texture feel dense, which suits impactful typography more than airy minimalism.
