This serif shows clear thick–thin modulation with crisp, bracketed serifs and a relatively vertical axis. Capitals are stately and open, with moderate stroke flare and sharp terminals that keep edges clean in text. Lowercase forms are traditional and text-oriented, with a two-storey “g” and “a,” a compact “e,” and a gently angled crossbar on “e” that reinforces the calligraphic contrast. Numerals follow the same oldstyle-influenced rhythm, mixing straight stems with curved bowls and small finishing serifs for a cohesive page color.

Well suited to long-form reading such as books and essays, and to editorial design where a traditional serif voice is desired. It also performs nicely for headlines and pull quotes that benefit from sharp contrast and a classic typographic tone.

The overall tone is classic and bookish, with a measured, authoritative presence suited to literary and scholarly settings. Its contrast and crisp detailing add a refined, slightly formal character without feeling ornate.

The design appears intended as a conventional text serif with a refined, high-contrast drawing—aiming for a dependable, literary voice that reads smoothly while presenting a polished, traditional finish.

In the text sample, the face maintains a consistent rhythm and comfortable spacing, producing an even texture at larger paragraph sizes. The contrast is pronounced but controlled, giving strokes a lively sparkle while keeping counters open and readable.
