This is a slanted serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and crisp, bracketed serifs that taper into sharp, triangular joins. Curves are generous and slightly swollen in the heavy strokes, while hairlines stay fine and clean, producing a distinctly shaded rhythm across words. The italic construction shows a calligraphic influence: entry and exit strokes feel directional, counters are somewhat narrow, and several letters (notably in the lowercase) show lively joins and ball-like terminals. Figures are similarly shaded and angled, with a traditional, text-oriented proportion and clear differentiation between forms.

It performs well in editorial typography such as magazine headlines, feature decks, pull quotes, and book titling where a traditional serif voice is desired. The strong contrast and italic cadence also make it effective for emphasis in longer text, though its pronounced shading and slant are most impactful at larger sizes.

The overall tone is traditional and editorial, combining formality with a touch of expressive, pen-driven movement. It reads as confident and cultivated—suited to contexts that want a classic voice with noticeable typographic character rather than neutrality.

The design appears intended to provide a conventional serif reading experience with elevated drama and italic expressiveness—balancing classic proportions with a more emphatic, shaded stroke model for strong presence in editorial and display settings.

Spacing appears moderately open for a high-contrast italic, helping maintain legibility in longer lines, while the strong diagonals create an energetic forward flow. The weight distribution makes verticals feel sturdy, and the sharp serifs and tapered ends add a refined, engraved-like finish at display sizes.
