This is a high-contrast text serif with clear calligraphic stress and crisp, bracketed serifs. Curves transition into hairline joins, giving bowls and rounds a polished, engraved feel, while vertical stems carry most of the weight. The lowercase shows traditional text proportions with a moderate x-height, compact apertures, and a two-storey “g” paired with a single-storey “a,” supporting a familiar reading rhythm. Numerals and capitals appear evenly proportioned and slightly broad, with sharp, tapered terminals and consistent spacing that keeps lines of text clean and steady.

Well suited to book interiors, long-form editorial layouts, and magazine typography where a traditional serif voice and strong typographic color are desirable. It also works effectively for chapter openers, pull quotes, and literary or institutional titling that benefits from a formal, established presence.

The overall tone is classic and literary, leaning toward editorial sophistication rather than casual warmth. Its contrast and sharp finishing details project formality and authority, with a subtle old-world elegance that feels suited to curated, content-forward typography.

The design appears intended as a conventional reading serif with elevated contrast and carefully finished serifs, balancing familiarity with a more polished, contemporary sharpness. It aims to deliver a confident, classic tone while keeping enough openness and width to remain legible in continuous text.

In text, the strong thick–thin modulation creates lively texture and a pronounced vertical rhythm, while the terminals (including small ball/teardrop-like details on some lowercase forms) add a refined, slightly decorative finish without becoming ornate. The wide capitals and generous internal counters help maintain clarity at display and paragraph sizes, though the hairlines suggest it will look best where reproduction is clean.
