A sturdy text serif with pronounced bracketed serifs, rounded terminals, and clear thick–thin modulation that gives the letters a slightly calligraphic, inked feel. Capitals are broad and stable with softly flared serifs and rounded joins, while the lowercase shows compact, readable forms with prominent bowls and a moderately deep rhythm of ascenders/descenders. Counters are open but not oversized, and the overall color is dense and even, helped by the weighty stems and strong vertical presence. Numerals appear oldstyle, with varying heights and several descending forms, contributing to a classic text texture.

Well-suited for books, magazines, and other longform reading where a dense but steady texture is desirable. It also works effectively for headlines, pull quotes, and formal branding applications that benefit from classic serif authority and oldstyle-number styling.

The tone is traditional and bookish, with a stately, editorial character that suggests established print typography. Rounded details and gentle bracketing keep it friendly and readable, while the strong contrast and dark color add authority and formality.

The design appears aimed at a conventional, print-oriented text serif with a strong, confident color and classical detailing, balancing readability with a traditional, slightly calligraphic finish.

Several glyphs lean on softly sculpted, slightly tapered strokes and rounded ball-like terminals that reinforce a hand-influenced serif look. The italic is not shown; the sample indicates a robust roman intended to hold up well at text sizes while still providing display-worthy presence in larger settings.
