A jagged, hand-rendered serif style with uneven stroke edges and subtly fluctuating widths that mimic rough ink or carved lettering. Terminals end in blunt wedges and small spikes, and curves are slightly faceted rather than smoothly round, giving bowls and counters a worn, distressed look. Uppercase forms feel sturdy and monumental, while lowercase shows more idiosyncratic shapes and a slightly narrower rhythm; numerals follow the same rough-cut, uneven contour language. Overall spacing reads moderately open, with consistent texture at text sizes despite the intentionally irregular outlines.

Best suited for short-to-medium display text where atmosphere matters: horror or thriller titles, Halloween and haunted-attraction promotions, tabletop or video game branding, and dramatic poster headlines. It can work in brief paragraphs for themed material, but its distressed texture is most effective when given room to breathe at larger sizes.

The face projects a haunted, ritualistic tone—like lettering pulled from an old grimoire, a horror title card, or hand-painted signage in a dim alley. Its rough edges and sharp terminals create tension and unease, balancing readability with a deliberately unsettling, antiquated character.

The design appears intended to evoke antique, hand-made lettering with a dark narrative edge—combining traditional serif structure with rough, sharpened contours to signal mystery and menace while remaining legible in display settings.

The irregular contouring is consistent across the set, producing a cohesive ‘aged’ texture rather than random distortion. Straight strokes often show slight waviness, and diagonals carry a carved, knife-cut feeling that reinforces the macabre mood without relying on extreme drips or exaggerated decoration.
