This italic serif shows pronounced stroke contrast with tapered, calligraphic entry/exit strokes and finely cut, bracketed serifs. The letters have a forward-leaning rhythm and a slightly variable, handwritten modulation that keeps counters open and forms lively rather than rigid. Uppercase characters feel stately with generous curves (notably in C, G, O, Q), while the lowercase maintains clear, bookish proportions; the italic ‘a’ is single-storey and the overall texture reads smooth and continuous in text. Numerals follow the same high-contrast, sculpted construction, giving figures a classic, print-oriented presence.

It works especially well for book and magazine italics—emphasis, citations, pull quotes, and introductory lines—where a refined, traditional tone is desired. At larger sizes it can serve as an elegant display italic for headlines or formal materials such as invitations and programs.

The tone is elegant and cultivated, with the kind of italic voice associated with literature, scholarship, and traditional publishing. Its high contrast and sharp finishing details add a sense of polish and ceremony, making it feel more expressive than a purely utilitarian text italic.

The design appears intended as a classic companion italic for conventional serif typography, emphasizing graceful movement and high-contrast refinement. It aims to deliver a polished, literary texture that remains readable in continuous text while adding expressive emphasis when used selectively.

In the sample setting, the italic angle and tapered terminals create a flowing line-to-line cadence suited to longer phrases. The design maintains a consistent serif logic across cases, and the curves and joins avoid abrupt breaks, supporting a cohesive, editorial texture.
