A high-contrast italic serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and softly bracketed serifs. Strokes taper into pointed terminals and wedge-like feet, producing a fluid, calligraphic rhythm while keeping letterforms firmly in the text-serif tradition. Uppercase proportions feel stately and slightly narrow, while the lowercase shows oldstyle tendencies with compact bowls, angled entry strokes, and a lively rightward slant. Figures follow the same italic construction, with curving forms and strong diagonal energy that integrates smoothly with the text.

Well suited to editorial typography such as magazine features, pull quotes, and section openers where an italic voice needs to carry character. It can also serve for book front matter, literary branding, formal invitations, and refined packaging—especially when set with generous spacing and comfortable line height.

The overall tone is classic and literary, combining refinement with a hint of theatrical flourish. Its sharp terminals and rhythmic swashes read as elegant and expressive rather than neutral, lending a traditional, bookish authority suited to formal messaging.

Designed to provide a confident, traditional italic with strong calligraphic cues—more expressive than a purely utilitarian text italic, yet disciplined enough to function in conventional reading contexts. The intention appears to balance elegance and legibility while delivering a distinctive, classic texture on the page.

Curves show clear diagonal stress, and joins are handled with crisp, tapered transitions that keep counters open despite the contrast. The ampersand and italic capitals add display-like presence, while the lowercase remains cohesive for continuous reading at larger text sizes.
