A high-contrast serif with bracketed, wedge-like serifs and a strongly calligraphic modulation. Curves are generous and smooth, with crisp joins and a relatively narrow, upright stance in many capitals, balanced by round, open bowls in C, O, and Q. The lowercase shows traditional oldstyle construction with a two-storey a, a double-storey g, and a distinctive, flowing f; terminals often finish in sharp, angled cuts rather than blunt ends. Numerals follow the same contrasting logic, with varied widths and prominent serifs that keep the rhythm lively in text and display sizes.

Well-suited to long-form reading environments such as books, essays, and editorial layouts where a traditional serif voice is desired. It also performs convincingly for chapter openings, pull quotes, and formal headings, and can lend a classic, established feel to programs, announcements, and invitation-style materials.

The overall tone is classical and bookish, suggesting tradition, credibility, and editorial polish. Its sharp serifs and pronounced contrast add a sense of ceremony and refinement, while the oldstyle details keep it warm and literary rather than purely modern.

The design appears intended as a conventional text serif with a classical, oldstyle backbone and pronounced contrast for elegance. Its proportions and detailing aim to balance readability with a refined, authoritative presence across both text and display settings.

In the sample text, the design maintains a steady horizontal color despite the strong thick–thin transitions, helped by open counters and clear inner spaces. The italic is not shown; the upright forms rely on angled entry/exit strokes and tapered terminals to create motion without slant.
