A robust serif with strong thick–thin modulation and bracketed wedge serifs that broaden into confident terminals. Curves show a subtle calligraphic stress, with rounded bowls and occasional ball terminals (notably in the lowercase), giving the heavy weight a slightly softened, ink-trap-free feel. Proportions are classically modeled: compact, sturdy capitals; lowercase with moderate ascenders/descenders; and oldstyle figures that blend naturally with text. Overall spacing feels even and text-ready, with a steady rhythm across mixed-case setting.

Well suited to editorial typography where a strong serif voice is desired—book interiors, long-form articles, and academic or institutional materials. The sturdy weight and high contrast also make it effective for section heads, pull quotes, and display lines where a classic, print-forward character is appropriate.

The tone is traditional and authoritative, evoking book typography and institutional printing. Its weight and contrast project seriousness and clarity, while the rounded details keep it from feeling brittle or overly sharp.

The design appears intended to deliver a conventional, text-oriented serif with elevated contrast and a deliberately weighty presence, balancing classic forms with slightly softened terminals for readability and warmth at larger text sizes.

The numerals appear as text figures rather than lining, supporting continuous reading in paragraphs. The lowercase includes a two-storey “g” and a compact, readable “a,” contributing to a familiar, conventional texture in running text.
