A high-contrast italic serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and a strong diagonal slant. Serifs are sharply defined and mostly bracketed, with tapered entry/exit strokes that feel calligraphic rather than mechanical. Curves show an oblique stress and many characters finish in soft, rounded terminals, giving the face a slightly oldstyle, bookish texture despite its crisp edges. Uppercase forms are compact and sturdy, while the lowercase is lively with generous curves, a single-storey italic a, and an energetic descending j that adds motion to lines of text. Numerals follow the same italic logic with distinctive shapes and clear differentiation.

Works well for magazine headlines, book and journal titling, pull quotes, and promotional copy that benefits from an expressive italic serif. It can also serve for short passages in invitations or formal announcements where a traditional, high-contrast look is desired.

The tone is classical and editorial, combining authority with a sense of flourish. Its contrast and slant create a dramatic, cultured voice suited to refined, literary settings rather than utilitarian signage.

Designed to deliver a conventional text-serif foundation with a distinctly italic, calligraphic energy, pairing strong contrast and crisp serifs with rounded terminals to keep the voice expressive yet traditional.

In text, the rhythm is noticeably dynamic: angled strokes and tapered joins create a forward pull, while the robust capitals add weight and emphasis. The overall color is dark and confident, making it most comfortable at display sizes or for short text where the italic character can be appreciated.
