A robust serif with pronounced thick–thin contrast and firmly bracketed serifs. The letterforms show generous, rounded bowls and steady vertical stress, with crisp joins and confident horizontal serifs that read cleanly at display sizes. Lowercase features include a two-storey “a,” a double-storey “g” with a compact ear, and a distinctive “y” with a curved descender. Numerals appear as oldstyle figures with clear ascenders/descenders, contributing to a lively rhythm in mixed text.

Well suited to editorial design, magazine typography, and book work where a traditional serif voice is desired. The strong color and contrast also make it effective for headlines, pull quotes, section titles, and brand marks that need a formal, established tone.

The overall tone is classic and authoritative, with a bookish, editorial voice that feels established rather than trendy. Its weight and contrast give it a dignified presence suited to traditional typography and formal messaging.

The design appears intended as a conventional, high-contrast serif for reading and editorial hierarchy, pairing familiar classical construction with a darker, more emphatic weight for stronger presence on the page.

Spacing and rhythm lean toward a measured, text-oriented cadence, while the heavier color makes it especially effective for headlines and short passages. Rounded terminals and ball-like details on select forms soften the otherwise sturdy, institutional feel.
