A compact serif with tall proportions and a firm vertical stress, rendered with strong thick–thin modulation. Stems swell subtly into flared, bracketed serifs and terminals, giving corners a carved, chiseled feel rather than blunt slab endings. Uppercase forms are narrow and disciplined, with pointed apexes (notably in A, V, W) and a relatively small inner counter rhythm that keeps the texture dense. Lowercase maintains clear, conventional construction with sturdy bowls and crisp joins; numerals are weighty and vertically oriented, matching the text color of the letters.

It performs best in display and headline settings where its compact width and bold presence can create strong hierarchy—magazine titles, book or journal covers, and poster typography. In editorial layouts it can be effective for short bursts of text such as section headers, pull quotes, or lead-ins where a formal, traditional voice is desired.

The overall tone is classic and serious, leaning toward old-world editorial authority. Its dense, emphatic color and sharp finishing details suggest a voice suited to tradition, ceremony, and confident headlines rather than casual or playful messaging.

The design appears intended to deliver a condensed, high-impact serif that still reads as classic and refined. By pairing strong contrast with flared, bracketed endings, it balances authority and elegance, aiming for a distinctive editorial texture without resorting to slab-like heaviness.

In text, the font produces a dark, compact paragraph color with pronounced stroke contrast that emphasizes verticals and sharp entry/exit strokes. The narrow set and tight internal counters make it feel punchy at larger sizes, while the flared serif treatment adds a refined, engraved character.
