A high-contrast serif with a broad stance and pronounced thick–thin modulation. Stems are sturdy and dark, while hairlines taper sharply into finely pointed terminals; serifs are bracketed and often wedge-like, giving a sculpted, slightly calligraphic finish. The design uses generous curves and deep ink traps in places, with lively, asymmetric details in characters like J, Q, S, and the lowercase a/g. Numerals appear oldstyle (text) figures with varied heights and flowing curves, reinforcing a traditional rhythm alongside the heavy overall color.

Best used where strong typographic personality is welcome: headlines, pull quotes, magazine and journal styling, book covers, and premium packaging. It can also work for short-form text at larger sizes, but its dramatic contrast and dense color are most effective in display and editorial settings.

The tone is emphatic and refined, combining classic bookish cues with a theatrical, attention-grabbing weight. Its sharp tapering and bold silhouettes feel confident and slightly baroque, suited to language that wants gravitas and flourish rather than neutrality.

The design appears intended to deliver a classic serif voice with heightened contrast and sculptural finishing, aiming for authority and elegance while remaining conventionally legible. Its wide proportions and expressive terminals suggest a focus on impact for titles and prominent typography rather than understated body copy.

Round letters (O, C, G) read as compact and dark, while diagonals (V, W, X, Y) are energetic and sharply tapered. The lowercase shows a traditional, slightly irregular serif rhythm with distinctive ear and tail shapes, and the punctuation/diacritics in the sample suggest a strong vertical emphasis and firm baseline presence.
