A high-contrast serif with tapered, slightly flared terminals and crisp bracketed serifs that give strokes a carved, calligraphic finish. Capitals are broad and stately with smooth, oval curves (notably in C/O/Q) and sharp, well-defined joins; the Q carries a distinctive sweeping tail. Lowercase shows compact, sturdy forms with a two-storey a and g, a ball terminal on j, and pointed, energetic diagonals in v/w/x. Numerals are similarly contrasty and open, with a flowing 2 and a descending, curled 9 that reinforce the brisk stroke rhythm.

Well suited to editorial typography such as books, long-form articles, and magazine layouts where contrast and crisp serifs enhance texture and hierarchy. It also performs strongly in headlines, pull quotes, and refined branding or packaging that benefits from a classic, authoritative voice.

The overall tone is traditional and editorial, balancing refinement with assertiveness. Its sharp serifs and sculpted contrast evoke book typography and institutional print, while the slightly flared endings add a hint of engraved or calligraphic character.

The design appears intended to deliver a contemporary take on classic serif construction: readable and disciplined for text, yet with enough stroke drama and flared finishing to add personality in display settings.

Spacing and sidebearings read generous, helping the strong contrast breathe at text sizes. The design maintains a consistent rhythm across uppercase, lowercase, and figures, with lively diagonals and pronounced terminals providing emphasis in headlines without becoming overly decorative.
