A sturdy slab-serif with pronounced, squared serifs and a fairly vertical, upright construction. Strokes show noticeable contrast between thick stems and finer connecting strokes, while terminals remain crisp and flat, giving the letterforms a solid, anchored feel. Proportions read traditionally bookish: round letters are generously wide, curves are smooth, and spacing appears even with a steady baseline rhythm. The lowercase is clear and conventional, with a single-storey “g” and compact joins, and the numerals follow a classic lining style with strong horizontals and stable, rectangular serifs.

Well suited to editorial typography—book interiors, essays, and magazine text—where a sturdy serif voice and steady reading rhythm are desired. It also works effectively for headlines, subheads, and institutional branding that benefits from a traditional, authoritative tone and strong typographic color.

The overall tone is formal and dependable, evoking textbook and newspaper typography. Its confident slabs and measured contrast communicate seriousness and clarity rather than playfulness, with a subtly traditional, academic character.

The design appears intended to modernize a classic slab-serif model: strong, squared serifs for firmness, paired with traditional proportions and clear differentiation for comfortable reading. It aims for a trustworthy, editorial presence that remains versatile across text and display settings.

Capitals have a dignified presence with wide bowls and clear serif articulation, while the lowercase maintains legibility through consistent stroke logic and restrained details. The design’s sharp slab endings and controlled contrast help it hold structure in longer passages and at display sizes without feeling ornate.
