A sculpted serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and crisp, wedge-like terminals. Serifs are strongly bracketed and often beaked, giving strokes a carved, calligraphic finish rather than a blunt slab feel. Uppercase forms read stately and compact, while the lowercase shows sturdy, rounded bowls with sharp entry/exit points; the two-storey a and g are prominent and the lowercase g has a distinctive, looped ear. Spacing and proportions feel traditionally text-oriented, with a consistent vertical stress and confident, dark color in lines of copy.

Well-suited to editorial typography such as magazines, book interiors, and essay-like longform where a traditional serif texture is desired. The strong modulation and crisp terminals also make it effective for display use—headlines, pull quotes, and refined branding—where a classical, authoritative impression is beneficial.

The overall tone is classic and editorial, projecting authority and a bookish seriousness. Its sharp terminals and high modulation add a touch of drama and sophistication, suggesting a refined, traditional voice rather than an informal or neutral one.

Designed to deliver a conventional text-serif foundation with elevated contrast and sharply finished details, balancing readability with a more dramatic, engraved-like elegance. The intention appears to be a versatile serif that can carry body copy while also providing a strong voice in larger sizes.

Figures appear lining and weighty, matching the darkness of the capitals, and the punctuation/diacritics shown keep the same crisp, bracketed treatment. In paragraph settings the strong contrast and pointed terminals create a lively texture that benefits from comfortable sizes and solid leading.
