A robust serif with compact interior counters and a strongly built, high-ink silhouette. Serifs are bracketed with distinctly pointed, wedge-like terminals that give many strokes a beaked finish, especially at horizontals and diagonals. Curves are round but slightly squared-off by the heavy weight, and joins read firm and deliberate rather than calligraphic. The lowercase shows a two-storey “a” and “g,” sturdy vertical stress, and relatively short extenders, producing a dense, even texture. Figures are similarly weighty, with clear, old-school shapes and triangular finishing details that echo the letter terminals.

Best suited to headlines, deck copy, posters, and book-cover typography where a classic serif voice with extra weight is desired. It can also work for editorial branding elements (mastheads, section headers, pull quotes) where its dense color and sharp terminals add authority and impact.

The overall tone is traditional and emphatic, leaning toward institutional and editorial associations. Its sharp, triangular finishing gives it a slightly dramatic, engraved feel while still reading as a conventional text serif at display sizes. The heavy color and decisive shapes project confidence and seriousness.

The design appears intended to deliver a familiar, traditional serif structure while adding visual bite through pointed, wedge-like terminals and a substantial weight. It aims for a confident, heritage-leaning presence that remains readable but prioritizes emphasis and character in display settings.

In text, the combination of heavy strokes and tight counters creates a strong, dark paragraph color, making spacing and line-height important for comfortable reading. The pointed terminals and notched joins become more prominent as size increases, lending the face a distinctive, slightly “carved” personality in headlines and short phrases.
