A classic serif with crisp, bracketed serifs and pronounced thick–thin modulation. The capitals show steady, vertical proportions and clean joins, with sharp, slightly tapered terminals on forms like C, G, S, and T. Lowercase counters are open and round, with a two-storey a and g; the g features a clear ear and a neatly defined lower loop. Numerals are oldstyle-leaning in feel with varied widths and strong contrast, matching the text rhythm of the alphabet. Overall spacing reads even and composed, giving paragraphs a smooth, traditional texture.

This design is a strong fit for long-form reading such as books and essays, where its familiar serif structure and consistent rhythm support comfortable text color. It also suits editorial layouts and magazine typography, and can carry literary or cultural headlines when set with generous spacing.

The font projects a traditional, bookish tone with a composed, authoritative presence. Its high-contrast strokes and crisp serifs add a refined, slightly formal character that feels well suited to established editorial and cultural contexts.

The font appears intended as a conventional, high-quality text serif that balances clarity with elegance. Its restrained detailing and consistent contrast suggest a focus on dependable reading performance while preserving a refined, historically informed tone.

Curves are drawn with a controlled, slightly calligraphic stress, while horizontals stay relatively light against stronger verticals. Diacritics shown (such as the i/j dots) are simple and round, and the ampersand in the sample text reads as a classic, restrained form that aligns with the overall text-serif voice.
