A robust serif with strongly bracketed, triangular wedge serifs and pronounced thick–thin modulation. The shapes feel broad and generous in set, with large capitals and sturdy stems that create a dark, confident color on the page. Curves are rounded but firmly controlled, with relatively tight apertures in letters like C, G, S, and e, and a distinctive ball terminal on the lowercase f. The lowercase has a conventional text rhythm with a moderate x-height and compact counters, while the numerals appear oldstyle, with varied heights and a descending 3, 5, 7, and 9.

Well suited to editorial typography where a strong, traditional serif voice is desired, including magazine features, book typography, and pull quotes. The heavy texture and wide set also make it effective for headlines and display lines that need authority and presence while remaining conventionally readable.

The overall tone is classic and institutional, evoking bookish authority and traditional print craft. Its weight and dense color add seriousness and impact, making it feel confident, steady, and editorial rather than casual or playful.

The design appears intended as a conventional text serif with extra visual mass and a broad stance, combining classic serif construction with a darker, more emphatic page color. It aims to provide a dependable, traditional reading texture while also scaling confidently into display use.

Stroke endings and serifs are consistent and crisply resolved, giving the face a disciplined texture at larger sizes. The italic is not shown; the samples indicate a strong roman voice with a headline-capable presence.
