A robust serif with pronounced thick–thin contrast and strongly bracketed serifs. Strokes show a calligraphic influence, with subtly flared or beaked terminals (notably on letters like C, G, and f) and occasional ball-like endings. Uppercase forms are steady and classical with substantial horizontals, while the lowercase is round and lively, with a slightly irregular, handwritten rhythm. The numerals appear oldstyle, mixing ascenders and descenders, reinforcing a text-forward, bookish texture.

Well-suited to editorial typography where a strong, classic serif voice is needed—magazines, book interiors, and pull quotes—especially at text to display sizes where its contrast and terminals can be appreciated. The weight and lively lowercase also make it effective for headlines, branding copy, and packaging that benefits from a traditional, premium tone.

The overall tone feels traditional and literary, with a confident, editorial presence. Its dark color and animated terminals give it warmth and personality without becoming decorative, suggesting a classic voice with a subtly expressive edge.

The design appears intended to deliver a conventional, readable serif with extra character: a sturdy text foundation combined with calligraphic terminals and oldstyle numerals to create a more personable, historic-feeling texture on the page.

In text, the font produces a dense, authoritative gray with crisp entry/exit strokes that keep lines from feeling mechanical. The italic-like movement is visible even in the upright roman, especially in the lowercase curves and the energetic shapes of s, a, and g.
