A sturdy serif with broad, weighty strokes and subtly widening terminals that read as flared, giving stems a carved, chiseled finish. Serifs are pronounced and often wedge-like with bracketed joins, creating a firm baseline presence and crisp entry/exit points. Counters are relatively compact and the overall color is dark and consistent, while curves (C, O, S) stay smooth and generous. The lowercase shows a traditional, bookish construction with a two-storey a and g, rounded i/j dots, and compact, vertical proportions that emphasize stability over delicacy.

Best suited for headlines, subheads, and other short-to-medium runs where a strong serif character is desirable. It can work well in editorial layouts, book and magazine covers, announcements, and poster typography where a traditional voice and high visual impact are needed.

The font conveys a confident, institutional tone—serious, grounded, and slightly old-world. Its dark color and flared endings lend an authoritative voice suited to editorial and formal contexts, while the rounded curves keep it approachable rather than austere.

The design appears intended to deliver a classic serif presence with added punch: flared stroke endings and assertive serifs create a distinctive texture while preserving familiar, readable letterforms for editorial-style typography.

At display and subhead sizes the strong serifs and terminal flare become a defining texture, producing a rhythmic, stamped quality across words. Figures are solid and readable, with simple, sturdy forms that match the heavy typographic color of the letters.
