A robust serif with bracketed, wedge-like serifs and a sturdy, slightly compact build. Strokes show clear thick–thin modulation without becoming delicate, and curves are full with a strong, ink-trap-free silhouette. Uppercase forms are broad-shouldered and steady, while lowercase features a two-storey a and g, prominent ball terminals (notably on f), and a large x-height that supports dense setting. Numerals are weighty and highly legible, with oldstyle-like warmth in their curves and pronounced foot serifs on straight forms.

Performs especially well in headlines and subheads where its strong serifs and dense color create impact. It can also serve in editorial and book settings when a darker, more assertive text tone is desired, and it fits branding or packaging that benefits from a classic, established voice.

The overall tone is traditional and authoritative, with a confident, bookish presence. Its heavy color and emphatic serifs evoke classic editorial typography—serious, established, and suited to messaging that should feel trustworthy and conventional.

The design appears intended as a conventional, highly legible serif with extra presence—aiming to retain familiar book-type proportions while increasing weight and emphasis for strong editorial typography.

The rhythm is even and the spacing appears designed for continuous reading, producing a dark, cohesive texture in paragraphs. Terminals and joins lean toward rounded, softened transitions rather than sharp incisive details, giving the face a friendly solidity despite its strong weight.
