A robust serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and firmly bracketed, wedge-like serifs. The capitals are broad and steady with strong vertical stress, generous interior counters, and crisp terminals that keep the heavy weight from feeling blunt. Lowercase forms are compact and sturdy, with a single-storey “g” featuring a distinctive ear and a slightly calligraphic, serifed “j”; the overall rhythm is even and upright, with clear differentiation between rounds and straights and a deliberately traditional texture in text.

Well-suited to headlines and deck copy where a traditional serif voice is desired, as well as editorial layouts and book-cover typography that benefit from a strong, high-contrast texture. It can also serve for classic branding or institutional materials where a weighty, formal impression is appropriate.

The tone is classic and authoritative, leaning toward a bookish, editorial feel. Its strong contrast and confident serifs give it a formal, institutional presence that reads as established and trustworthy rather than casual.

The design appears intended to deliver a conventional serif voice with extra punch: a familiar reading silhouette reinforced by bold color, high-contrast strokes, and sculpted serifs for impact in display and editorial contexts.

At display sizes the sculpted serifs and contrast become the main character, while in paragraphs the heavier color produces a dense, emphatic page. Numerals are sturdy and old-style in spirit, with noticeable contrast and clear shapes suited to prominent settings.
