A conventional text serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and crisp, bracketed serifs. Capitals are well-proportioned and stately, with sharp apexes and clean, tapered terminals, while the lowercase shows a steady bookish rhythm with moderately open counters and a normal x-height. Curves (C, G, O, e) are smoothly drawn and the joins are controlled, giving the face a polished, print-oriented feel. Numerals appear as oldstyle figures with noticeable ascenders/descenders and lively curves, adding a traditional, editorial texture to running text.

Well-suited to book typography, magazine and newspaper-style editorial layouts, and other long-form reading where a familiar serif texture aids comfort and hierarchy. It also fits formal documents and academic or institutional materials that benefit from a traditional, trustworthy voice.

The overall tone is classic and literary, projecting formality without feeling ornamental. It reads as composed and authoritative, suited to contexts where tradition, clarity, and editorial credibility are important.

The design appears intended as a versatile, conventional text face that emphasizes refined contrast, balanced proportions, and a steady reading rhythm. Oldstyle numerals and restrained detailing suggest a focus on traditional publishing aesthetics and continuous text performance.

Stroke contrast is evident in both stems and diagonals, and the serifs stay relatively fine, which contributes to an elegant, slightly delicate color on the page. The italic is not shown; all samples appear upright.
