A high-contrast serif with pronounced, sculpted stroke modulation and wedge-like serifs that often flare out from the stems. Vertical strokes read sturdy and dark while joins and curves pinch into narrow waists, producing sharp transitions and crisp inner counters. The capitals feel stately and slightly condensed in their rhythm, with broad, tapered terminals and strong diagonals; the lowercase shows compact bowls and a sturdy, two-storey “g,” with pronounced feet and beak-like terminals on forms such as “a,” “c,” and “e.” Numerals are weighty and editorial in tone, with ample curves and tight apertures that hold up at display sizes.

Best suited to display and large text where the contrast and flared serifs can read clearly—editorial headlines, pull quotes, book and album covers, and premium branding. It can also work for short passages in print-oriented layouts when paired with a calmer companion for body copy.

The overall tone is traditional and assertive, with a refined, print-forward character that evokes book typography and magazine headlines. The dramatic contrast and flared finishing give it a slightly theatrical, engraved feel while staying formal and controlled.

The design appears intended to deliver a confident, heritage-inflected serif voice with dramatic contrast and distinctive flared finishing, optimized for strong presence in editorial and branding contexts.

At text sizes, the tight apertures and sharply tapered joins create a dense color, while the exaggerated swelling into terminals adds distinctive sparkle in larger settings. The design’s consistency comes from repeated flare motifs and angular, wedge-like detailing across serifs and terminals.
