This serif typeface shows pronounced thick–thin modulation with crisp, tapered finishing strokes and small bracketed serifs. The drawing feels calligraphically influenced: curves are smooth and slightly swelling, joins are clean, and terminals often end in sharp, beak-like points (notably in forms like C, S, and a). Proportions are moderately narrow with a compact lowercase and a relatively short x-height, while capitals are tall and stately. The italic is not shown; in the roman, some glyphs display subtly varied widths and a lively rhythm, with numerals and punctuation matching the same high-contrast, sharply cut detailing.

Well-suited to long-form reading contexts such as book interiors and editorial layouts where a classic serif voice is desired. It also performs strongly for chapter titles, pull quotes, and formal print materials that benefit from high-contrast elegance and traditional proportions.

The overall tone is traditional and bookish, with an editorial seriousness that reads as established and trustworthy. High contrast and sharp terminals add a refined, slightly dramatic edge, giving headlines a dignified presence while keeping an academic, print-forward character.

The design appears intended to deliver a conventional, print-centric serif with a refined, high-contrast finish—balancing readability with a more polished, literary tone for editorial and publishing use.

Round letters (O, Q, o) appear slightly vertically stressed, and diagonals (V, W, X) are crisp and assertive, helping the font hold up in display sizes. Counters are open and well-shaped, and the spacing in text samples suggests a steady, conventional reading rhythm rather than an overtly condensed or expansive feel.
