A high-contrast italic serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and sharp, tapered terminals. Serifs are wedge-like and lightly bracketed, with strokes that feel drawn from a broad-nib pen: swelling on curves, thinning into hairlines, and finishing in crisp points. The italic angle is consistent and fairly assertive, giving letters a forward rhythm; capitals are narrow-to-moderate with sculpted curves, while lowercase forms are compact with flowing joins and teardrop-like counters in places. Numerals appear oldstyle, varying in height and sitting naturally within the text color rather than aligning uniformly as lining figures.

Well suited to editorial typography such as books, essays, and magazine features, especially for italic roles like emphasis, leads, pull quotes, and section headings. It can also work in formal invitations and upscale branding where a classic italic serif adds a sense of refinement and tradition, particularly at medium to larger sizes.

The font reads as traditional and cultured, with a distinctly editorial tone. Its energetic italic movement and polished contrast suggest sophistication—suited to settings where a sense of heritage, taste, and emphasis is desired rather than neutrality.

The design appears intended as a conventional text-family italic with elevated contrast and calligraphic energy, balancing readability with expressive, formal character. Its proportions and oldstyle numerals suggest an emphasis on continuous-text harmony and a historically informed feel.

Spacing and stroke rhythm create a dark, lively texture in running text, with noticeable emphasis on diagonal stress and brisk entry/exit strokes. The italic forms are expressive without becoming script-like, maintaining clear serif structure and a coherent book-ish voice.
