This serif typeface shows pronounced contrast between thick and thin strokes with crisp, tapered hairlines and subtly flared stroke endings. Serifs are sharp and bracketed, with a carved, calligraphic feel where stems broaden into terminals rather than ending bluntly. Curves are smooth and slightly tense, counters are relatively open, and overall proportions feel balanced with moderate ascenders and descenders. The capitals are stately and structured, while the lowercase maintains a readable, traditional rhythm; numerals share the same high-contrast, old-style sensibility and sit comfortably alongside text.

Well-suited to magazine and newspaper-style editorial layouts, book jackets, and long-form typographic settings where a classical serif voice is desired. It also works effectively for headlines, pull quotes, and premium branding applications that benefit from high contrast and sculpted terminals.

The tone is formal and composed, evoking book typography and traditional print craft. Its sharp hairlines and flared terminals give it an elegant, slightly dramatic presence that reads as premium and editorial rather than casual.

The design appears intended to modernize a traditional serif model by combining strong contrast with flared, calligraphy-informed endings, aiming for an elegant reading texture with enough personality for prominent display use.

In the text sample, the face holds up well at display-to-large text sizes, where the contrast and tapering details become a key part of its character. The ampersand and the Q’s sweeping tail add a distinctive, slightly calligraphic accent without becoming ornate.
