A high-contrast serif with strongly tapered strokes and crisp, bracketed serifs. Capitals are broad and stately with sharp, triangular entry terminals on letters like A and V, while curves (C, G, O, Q) show pronounced thick–thin modulation. Lowercase has a traditional text rhythm: a two-storey a and g, a narrow, curved f, and compact counters with relatively tight apertures, especially in e and s. Terminals frequently resolve into small balls or teardrops (notably on a, c, f, j, y), giving the face a slightly calligraphic finish. Numerals appear oldstyle (descending 3, 5, 9) with similarly dramatic contrast and serifed structure.

Well-suited to display typography such as magazine headings, book and journal covers, pull quotes, and refined branding where a traditional serif voice is desired. It can also serve for short-form text in print-like layouts, particularly when set at comfortable sizes that preserve the hairline details.

The tone is classic and editorial, projecting authority and tradition with a slightly ornate, bookish elegance. Its sharp contrast and sculpted terminals add drama, making text feel formal and considered rather than utilitarian.

The design appears intended to deliver a conventional, heritage serif feel with heightened contrast and decorative terminals, balancing readable text proportions with a more dramatic, attention-getting surface. It aims to evoke established publishing and formal print traditions while remaining clean and structured.

At larger sizes the design reads very crisp and luxurious, but the combination of tight apertures and very thin hairlines suggests it will look most comfortable with generous size and spacing, especially on bright backgrounds. The italic is not shown; all samples appear upright.
