A robust serif with pronounced bracketed serifs, firm vertical stress, and compact, confident proportions. Strokes are sturdy with moderate contrast and clearly defined terminals, producing a dark, even typographic color. The lowercase shows a traditional book-face structure with a two-storey “a” and “g,” a compact “e” with a tight aperture, and sturdy bowls throughout. Capitals are broad and stable with strong horizontal serifs and slightly softened joins, while figures appear lining with noticeable weight and classical serif detailing.

Well suited to editorial typography such as book and magazine work, especially for headings, pull quotes, and section openers where a weighty, classical serif look is desired. It can also support formal branding and institutional materials that benefit from a traditional, established tone.

The overall tone is traditional and institutional, projecting authority and trust. Its dense, emphatic presence reads as serious and established, with an editorial voice suited to conventional publishing and formal communication.

Designed to deliver a conventional, print-oriented serif voice with a strong typographic color and familiar letterform construction. The intention appears to balance traditional readability cues with a more forceful weight for emphasis in editorial and headline roles.

The heavy color and compact openings suggest it prefers comfortable sizes and ample leading, where counters have room to breathe. In display settings it can deliver a strong, old-style headline feel, while in text it maintains a steady rhythm and clear letterform identities.
