A robust serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and sharply articulated, bracketed serifs. The letterforms have generous set widths and steady, vertical stress, with crisp terminals that often finish in subtle beaks or wedges. Bowls and rounds are full and weighty, while joins and counters stay clean and open enough to hold up in heavier settings. The overall rhythm is compact and assertive, with strong verticals and clearly cut shapes that read as classic display-text serifs rather than delicate book faces.

Best suited to headlines and subheads where a classic serif voice is desired, as well as posters, book covers, and identity work that benefits from a stately, established feel. It can also work for short blocks of text at comfortable sizes, where the sturdy serifs and open counters help maintain clarity.

The tone is traditional and authoritative, evoking editorial headlines, institutional communications, and established brands. Its confident weight and sharp detailing give it a slightly dramatic, “engraved” seriousness without feeling ornamental.

The design appears intended to provide a conventional serif texture with extra impact: broad proportions, decisive contrast, and crisp serif detailing that maintains legibility while projecting authority in display and editorial contexts.

In the samples, the heavy strokes and large serifs create strong word shapes and emphatic punctuation; the italic is not shown, and the roman maintains a consistent, upright posture. Numerals appear sturdy and old-style in spirit, with clear differentiation and a sturdy baseline presence.
