A refined italic serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and sharply tapered, slightly curved terminals. Serifs are small and bracketed, giving strokes a smooth entry and exit rather than blunt endings. The capitals are narrow and poised, with a restrained, classical construction; curves (C, G, O, Q) are clean and open, and the Q shows a graceful sweeping tail. Lowercase forms are compact with a moderate x-height, a single-storey a, a looped g, and slender ascenders/descenders that maintain a steady rhythm. Numerals follow the same calligraphic logic, with delicate curves and traditional proportions that sit comfortably alongside text.

Well-suited to body copy and long-form reading in print-style contexts, especially for literary or editorial typography where an italic voice is needed for emphasis. It can also serve refined display roles—pull quotes, titling, or formal stationery—where its calligraphic contrast adds sophistication without becoming decorative.

The overall tone is cultivated and bookish, balancing formality with a handwritten, editorial liveliness typical of high-contrast italics. It reads as polished and traditional rather than ornamental, projecting confidence and discretion in longer passages.

The design appears intended as a conventional, text-focused italic that delivers a classical, high-contrast color on the page. Its forms emphasize tradition and readability while preserving the expressive movement and grace associated with historic book italics.

In running text the slant is consistent and smooth, with tight, controlled counters and a crisp baseline presence. The spacing feels measured and text-oriented, and the design’s contrast and fine details suggest it benefits from comfortable sizes where the hairlines can remain clear.
