A narrow, text-oriented slab serif with a steady rhythm and crisp, square-shouldered serifs. Strokes read mostly even at a glance but reveal mild contrast, with verticals carrying more weight than hairline-like joins and curved transitions. Serifs are compact and largely flat, with subtle bracketing and neatly controlled joins that keep counters open in small sizes. Proportions are compact with a restrained x-height, giving lowercase a slightly tall, upright posture and a classic book-face cadence; numerals follow the same disciplined, condensed fit.

Well-suited to long-form reading in books and essays, especially where narrow measure or multi-column layouts are needed. It also fits editorial typography for magazines and newspapers, and works cleanly for academic or institutional documents, captions, and pull quotes where a traditional slab-serif voice is desired.

The tone is editorial and composed, evoking printed literature, reference material, and institutional typography rather than display flamboyance. Its narrow fit and firm serifs convey authority and seriousness, while the moderate contrast keeps it readable and understated.

The design appears intended as a practical, space-efficient slab serif for text setting, balancing sturdy serifs with controlled contrast to maintain clarity in dense paragraphs. Its proportions suggest an emphasis on economical copy-fitting and a familiar, print-centric texture.

Curves are smooth and fairly vertical-stressed, with terminals that stay firm and squared-off rather than tapered. The overall color on the page is slightly dark and even, making paragraphs look organized and column-friendly. Round letters and bowls stay tight and controlled, supporting dense setting without feeling compressed.
