This typeface is a slanted serif with sturdy slab-like, mostly bracketed serifs and smooth, low-contrast stroke modulation. The italics are clearly drawing-driven rather than mechanically obliqued: curves show a calligraphic swing, and joins are softly modeled, giving letters an oldstyle feel. Capitals are open and calmly proportioned with rounded bowls and restrained terminals, while lowercase forms are lively, with a single-story “a” and “g,” a compact “e,” and a rightward, flowing rhythm through stems and arches. Figures are lining and readable, with simple, traditional construction and clear differentiation between similar shapes.

It is well suited to editorial typography such as magazines, books, essays, and reports, especially where an italic voice is used prominently for emphasis or quotations. The clear lining numerals and steady serif structure also make it appropriate for captions, notes, and data-adjacent text where consistency and legibility matter.

The overall tone is literary and editorial, balancing warmth with restraint. The slab serif presence adds steadiness and confidence, while the italic construction introduces a courteous, slightly classical voice suited to narrative or scholarly settings rather than overt display.

The design appears intended to provide a readable, characterful italic within a slab-serif framework—combining dependable structure with a humanist, calligraphic flow. It aims to feel traditional and composed while remaining practical for sustained text.

Serifs remain consistent across the set and help establish a stable baseline, even in italic. Counters are fairly open and the spacing appears even, supporting continuous reading in text settings while still offering enough character for headings and pull quotes.
