A robust italic serif with pronounced thick–thin contrast and strongly bracketed serifs. The letterforms show a calligraphic, right-leaning stress and confident, sculpted curves, with compact counters and crisp joins that keep the rhythm tight at text sizes. Lowercase forms are energetic and slightly condensed in feel, with a single-storey “a” and “g” and distinct teardrop-like terminals; capitals are sturdy and formal with broad bowls and stable verticals. Numerals appear oldstyle with clear ascenders/descenders, reinforcing a bookish, traditional texture.

Well-suited to editorial typography such as books, magazines, and long-form articles where a traditional italic is needed for emphasis and hierarchy. Its strong contrast and sturdy capitals also make it effective for headlines, subheads, and pull quotes that benefit from a classic, authoritative voice.

The overall tone is classic and editorial—serious, established, and slightly dramatic due to the strong contrast and lively italic movement. It reads as traditional and authoritative rather than casual, with a polished, print-forward character.

The design appears intended as a conventional, high-contrast italic serif for serious reading environments, combining a traditional, print-centric texture with enough character in the italic forms to stand out in editorial settings.

Stroke modulation is consistent across the set, and the italic angle is strong enough to signal emphasis even at larger sizes. Spacing and proportions create a dark, confident color in paragraphs, while the distinctive italic forms (notably the lowercase and oldstyle figures) add personality without becoming ornamental.
