A strongly modeled serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and crisp, tapered terminals that read as subtly flared rather than blunt. Serifs are wedge-like and often sharply pointed, with noticeable bracketing where strokes meet, giving the forms a carved, sculptural feel. Counters are relatively open for the weight, while curves and joins show a slightly calligraphic stress; diagonals (V, W, X) and arms (E, F, T) end in clean, knife-like points. Overall spacing feels sturdy and deliberate, producing a dense, high-ink color in text.

Best suited to display and headline work where its contrast and sharp serifs can deliver impact—magazine titles, book covers, posters, and prominent pull quotes. It can also work for short blocks of text in editorial layouts when ample size and leading are available to preserve clarity.

The tone is traditional and authoritative, with a premium, old-world editorial character. Its sharp finishing and dramatic contrast add a sense of ceremony and seriousness, suitable for brands or publications aiming for gravitas and refinement.

The design appears intended to modernize a traditional serif voice by combining classical proportions with sharper, flared finishing and strong contrast for maximum presence. It prioritizes bold, premium communication and a distinctive editorial rhythm over neutral, low-profile text color.

Round letters (O, Q, C, G) keep a controlled, slightly condensed bowl with strong contrast, and the Q’s tail adds a formal flourish. The lowercase shows robust, simplified constructions (single-storey a and g) that keep the texture compact and punchy, while numerals share the same sharp serif vocabulary for a cohesive display presence.
