This serif has pronounced contrast with a crisp, dark presence and carefully shaped bracketed serifs. Strokes show a calligraphic logic: verticals feel sturdy while joins and curves taper into fine hairlines, and many letters end in beaked or gently flared terminals. Round forms (C, O, Q) are smooth and slightly condensed, while diagonals (V, W, X) are sharp and clean, producing a lively rhythm in display sizes. The lowercase is compact and sturdy, with a two-storey a and g, a relatively tight aperture in e, and distinct ball terminals on letters like f and y. Numerals read as oldstyle-style figures with noticeable ascenders/descenders and strong thick–thin modulation.

Best suited for headlines, decks, and prominent editorial typography where contrast and serif detail can be appreciated. It can also work for short-form reading—such as introductions, sidebars, and pull quotes—when set with comfortable size and leading, and for packaging or branding that aims for a classic, literary feel.

The overall tone is classic and editorial, with a confident, bookish seriousness. Its sharp serifs and high-contrast modulation suggest refinement and authority rather than casual friendliness, making it feel suited to traditional publishing and institutional design.

The design appears intended as a conventional, high-contrast text serif with strong display presence: a robust, readable skeleton paired with crisp hairlines and expressive terminals to deliver a traditional, authoritative voice in editorial and publishing contexts.

In text settings the heavy main strokes and fine hairlines create a dramatic texture, especially in larger sizes, while the prominent serifs help define word shapes. The italic is not shown; all samples appear roman/upright. Counters remain fairly open despite the weight, helping maintain clarity in dense lines.
