This typeface is a slanted serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and crisp, bracketed wedge serifs. Strokes show a calligraphic rhythm, with tapered joins, curved entry strokes, and occasional ball terminals (notably in forms like the lowercase a and y). The capitals are sturdy and slightly wide-set, while the lowercase maintains a moderate x-height with lively ascenders and descenders that add motion. Numerals appear as oldstyle figures, mixing ascenders and descenders for a more text-friendly texture.

It suits editorial typography where an italic voice is central—magazine features, book typography, introductions, and pull quotes—especially at text to subhead sizes where its contrast and detailing can be appreciated. It also works well for refined headlines or short, emphatic lines that benefit from a classic serif italic tone.

The overall tone is traditional and editorial, combining formality with a sense of speed and flourish from the italic construction. It feels bookish and authoritative, but also expressive enough to read as refined and slightly dramatic in display sizes.

The design appears intended as a conventional text serif italic with elevated contrast and a calligraphic edge, offering a polished, traditional voice for continuous reading while retaining enough character for emphasis and display use.

Counters are relatively open for an italic serif, helping maintain clarity despite the strong contrast and slant. The italic angle is consistent across the set, and the serif shapes stay sharp and well-defined, producing a crisp texture in larger text and a distinctly patterned color in paragraphs.
