A heavy, sturdy serif with generously bracketed serifs and rounded joins that soften the otherwise forceful silhouette. Strokes show clear but not delicate contrast, with broad verticals, substantial horizontals, and compact internal counters that keep the texture dark and even. The letterforms lean traditional and upright, with a moderate x-height and strongly modeled terminals—often ending in bulb-like or ball terminals on letters such as a, c, f, and j—adding a slightly old-style flavor. Spacing appears steady and headline-friendly, producing a solid, continuous rhythm in text.

Best suited to headlines, display typography, and short text blocks where a bold, classic serif texture is an asset. It works well for editorial titles, book covers, institutional or collegiate-style branding, and promotional materials that need a traditional yet impactful presence.

The overall tone is confident and conventional, with a distinctly editorial, institutional feel. Its weight and rounded detailing convey reliability and authority, while the softened bracketing and terminals keep it from feeling sharp or austere.

The design appears intended to deliver a conventional serif voice at high visual strength: a classic, readable structure reinforced with heavy serifs and softened modeling for a stable, approachable authority in display use.

Capitals are broad and imposing with prominent top serifs and stable proportions, while the lowercase maintains a traditional two-storey structure (notably in g) and sturdy ascenders/descenders. Numerals are similarly weighty and legible, suited to attention-grabbing settings where a classic serif voice is desired.
