This typeface is a flared serif with subtly tapered stems that swell toward the terminals, creating a carved, calligraphic feel rather than a purely geometric construction. Serifs are sharp and wedge-like with gentle bracketing, and curves show a moderate, controlled contrast with smooth transitions into joins. Proportions are on the wider side with open counters and a steady rhythm in text, while the lowercase shows a traditional book-face structure with a two-storey “a,” a compact “e,” and a slightly angled, energetic “y.” Numerals include oldstyle forms with noticeable ascenders/descenders, reinforcing a classic text-oriented texture.

It is well suited to editorial typography—book interiors, literary magazines, essays, and pull quotes—where a classic serif texture and strong presence are desirable. The crisp wedge serifs also work effectively for display applications such as section heads, covers, cultural branding, and institutional communications that want a traditional voice with distinctive flare.

The overall tone is classical and literary, with an authoritative, print-forward character that feels suited to established institutions and long-form reading. Its flared terminals and sharp serifs add a faintly historic, chiseled refinement that reads as serious and cultured rather than minimalist or neutral.

The design appears intended to blend readability with a more expressive, flared-serif signature: familiar oldstyle letterforms and comfortable spacing paired with tapered strokes and sharp terminals that give the face a crafted, engraved sensibility. It aims to feel authoritative and timeless while remaining lively enough for editorial display work.

The font maintains strong internal consistency between capitals and lowercase, and it holds up well at larger sizes where the tapered strokes and wedge terminals become a defining detail. In running text it produces a darker, confident color with clear word shapes, while the oldstyle numerals add a traditional, bookish cadence when mixing figures with text.
