This is a high-contrast serif with finely tapered hairlines and sturdier vertical stems, showing a gently calligraphic modulation and mostly bracketed serifs. Capitals are proportioned with a traditional, bookish rhythm and moderate stroke flare at terminals, while curves show diagonal stress in letters like O and C. Lowercase forms keep a compact x-height with relatively long ascenders/descenders, and features like the two-storey a and g, angled cross-strokes, and slightly sheared entry/exit strokes reinforce a classic text-seriffed construction. Numerals appear oldstyle with varying heights and alignment, matching the text tone and maintaining the same contrast and serif behavior.

It is well suited to book typography, long-form editorial layouts, and magazine text where a traditional serif voice is desired. The oldstyle numerals and classic capital styling also make it appropriate for refined branding, titles, and pull quotes, especially in print or larger digital sizes where its hairlines can remain clear.

The overall tone is classical and literary, with a composed, editorial seriousness. Its crisp contrast and traditional detailing read as refined and slightly formal rather than utilitarian, suggesting a voice suited to established institutions and print-centric typography.

The design appears intended to deliver a conventional, historically rooted reading experience with elegant contrast and familiar serif structures. It aims for credibility and polish—enough personality to feel crafted, while staying firmly within classic text typography expectations.

Round letters maintain generous internal space for the contrast level, and terminals often end in subtle wedges rather than blunt cuts. The design shows small, characteristic quirks—such as the distinctive Q tail and the lively, slightly angular joins in letters like k and v—that add texture without breaking the conventional text serif feel.
