A compact serif with pronounced stroke contrast and sculpted, flaring terminals that give stems a chiseled, calligraphic feel. Serifs are wedge-like and often bracketed into the stems, with several letters showing beaked or tapered endings rather than blunt slabs. Curves are taut and slightly pinched in places, creating a lively rhythm across bowls and rounds, while verticals remain dominant for a steady, upright posture. Numerals and capitals carry strong, poster-like presence, and the lowercase maintains a sturdy texture with relatively tight internal counters.

Best suited to headlines and short-to-medium text settings where its contrast and sculpted serifs can be appreciated—magazine titles, book covers, cultural posters, and brand wordmarks. It can also work for pull quotes and section heads where a traditional voice with extra punch is desired.

The overall tone is assertive and traditional, blending old-style gravitas with a slightly theatrical edge from the sharp beaks and high contrast. It reads as editorial and established—confident, serious, and a bit dramatic—without feeling ornate or delicate.

The design appears intended to deliver classic serif authority in a condensed footprint while adding visual energy through flared terminals, beaked serifs, and sharp, high-contrast detailing. It aims for a distinctive editorial texture that feels established and commanding in display typography.

Several forms show intentional narrowing and “ink-trap” like notches at joins (notably in letters with diagonals and tight apertures), which adds crispness at display sizes and reinforces the carved, flared-stem character. The uppercase has a strong vertical emphasis and the lowercase shows compact widths, producing dense, impactful lines of text.
