A high-contrast italic serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and sharply cut, wedge-like serifs. The forms feel compact and energetic, with a forward slant, slightly tapered terminals, and a crisp, chiseled edge to many strokes. Curves are tight and controlled (notably in C, G, and S), while verticals and diagonals maintain a steady rhythm despite the strong contrast. Numerals and capitals carry a sturdy, display-leaning presence, and the lowercase shows a traditional italic construction with a single-storey a and g.

Works especially well for editorial headlines, magazine styling, and book-cover titling where a classic italic serif can add emphasis and sophistication. It can also serve strong pull quotes or short introductory text, particularly when a darker typographic color and high-contrast sparkle are desirable.

The overall tone is classic and editorial, projecting authority and refinement with a touch of drama from the strong contrast and brisk italic angle. It reads as traditional and literary rather than playful, suited to contexts where a polished, established voice is desired.

The design appears intended to deliver a conventional, time-tested serif voice in an italic that’s confident and visually emphatic. Its sharp serifs and high contrast suggest an aim toward elegant, traditional typography with enough punch for display settings.

Counters are relatively compact and the weight concentrates in key stems, giving text a dark, cohesive color. Serifs and terminals are consistently sharp and angular, which increases crispness and impact at larger sizes. The italic structure is evident across both cases, with a slightly calligraphic feel in joins and stroke transitions.
