A refined serif with pronounced thick–thin contrast, hairline serifs, and smooth bracketed joins. Proportions are compact with a relatively tight overall set, while widths vary naturally across letters, giving an even but lively rhythm. Curves are clean and controlled, terminals are sharp and tapered, and round letters like O and Q show elegant modulation. Lowercase forms are traditional with a double-storey a, a compact e, a tall, straight-sided m/n, and a descender on g that curls into a small ear; figures follow the same high-contrast, text-oriented construction.

Well-suited to book typography, magazine layouts, and other editorial settings where a classic serif voice is desired. It can provide sharp, upscale presence in headlines and pull quotes, and it also fits formal materials such as invitations or programs when set with comfortable spacing.

The tone is classic and cultivated, suggesting editorial authority and a literary, print-first sensibility. Its crisp hairlines and formal structure read as sophisticated rather than playful, lending a composed, slightly ceremonial feel in headlines and a polished voice in longer passages.

The design appears intended to deliver a conventional, high-fidelity text serif with an elevated, print-classic character. Its controlled contrast and compact proportions aim for a balanced texture that feels authoritative and timeless across reading and display sizes.

Uppercase shapes lean toward inscriptional elegance, with narrow internal counters and careful stroke tapering that keeps the color light despite strong contrast. The ampersand is traditional and compact, matching the font’s restrained detailing.
