A sturdy slab-serif with pronounced, mostly bracketed serifs and a calm, even rhythm. Strokes feel slightly modulated rather than purely monoline, with firm verticals and confident horizontals that keep letterforms crisp at text sizes. The uppercase is broad and stately, while the lowercase is compact and readable with rounded joins and a two-storey “a.” Counters are moderately open, terminals are generally blunt, and curves (notably in “S,” “C,” and “g”) show a gentle, controlled swing. Figures are oldstyle-leaning in feel, with varied shapes and a classic text-font cadence.

Performs well in book interiors, magazine and newspaper typography, and other editorial settings where a robust serif texture helps legibility. The strong slabs also make it effective for pull quotes, subheads, and display lines that need a grounded, authoritative presence.

The overall tone is traditional and editorial—serious without feeling brittle. Its weight distribution and slab structure convey reliability and authority, with a slightly warm, bookish character suited to long-form reading and established brands.

This design appears intended as a workhorse slab serif for reading and editorial composition—combining sturdy slabs and moderate detailing to maintain clarity in dense text while still offering enough personality for headlines and branding.

Serifs read heavy enough to anchor lines and create strong horizontals, giving text a stable baseline and a clear texture in paragraphs. The italic is not shown; all samples appear upright. The ampersand is compact and conventional, matching the text-driven design.
