A sturdy serif with broad, gently modulated strokes and a clear flaring at terminals and serifs. The serifs are bracketed and wedge-like rather than slabby, giving stems a subtly sculpted, engraved feel. Curves are full and rounded (notably in C, G, O, and the numerals), while joins and shoulders stay smooth and controlled. Lowercase forms are compact and traditional, with a two-storey a and single-storey g, and the overall spacing and rhythm read as even and text-forward.

Well-suited to book and long-form editorial typography where a firm, readable texture is needed. It also performs strongly in display settings—headlines, section openers, and magazine typography—where its flared details can add character. The sturdy construction makes it a solid option for branding and packaging that aims for a classic, authoritative voice.

The face projects a confident, established tone—classic and institutional without feeling delicate. Its flared endings add a hint of warmth and craft, lending an editorial, literary character suited to serious but approachable communication.

The design appears intended to bridge text reliability with a subtly expressive, flared serif vocabulary. It emphasizes durable readability and conventional letterforms while using tapered terminals and bracketed serifs to add personality and historical resonance.

Capitals are proportionally strong and steady, with a prominent, slightly calligraphic Q tail and a robust G that maintains openness. Numerals are weighty and highly legible, with traditional shapes that align well with the text color in running copy.
