A rugged display serif with heavy, uneven strokes and jagged, eroded edges that mimic distressed ink on rough paper. Terminals are blunt and chipped, with occasional thorn-like protrusions and scalloped contours that create a torn silhouette. Counters are irregular and slightly pinched, and joins feel hand-hewn rather than mechanical, producing a lively, inconsistent rhythm across the alphabet. Numerals share the same battered outlines and chunky proportions, keeping the texture consistent in mixed copy.

Best used for headlines and display settings where atmosphere is the goal: horror and thriller titling, Halloween and seasonal promotions, dark-fantasy book covers, game branding, and themed packaging. It also works well for signage, labels, and pull quotes when you want an aged, eerie print look at larger sizes.

The letterforms project a haunted, old-world atmosphere—part woodcut, part decayed print—suggesting folklore, dark fantasy, and gothic ephemera. Its rough, shadowy texture reads as ominous and theatrical, with a tactile grit that feels purpose-built for eerie narratives and unsettling signage.

The design appears intended to evoke distressed gothic printing—like weathered letterpress or woodcut type—by combining sturdy serif structures with intentionally damaged edges and roughened stroke contours. The emphasis is on mood and texture over neutrality, giving designers a ready-made sense of menace and antiquarian drama.

In the sample text, the distressed perimeter creates strong color and presence, but the surface noise and irregular counters make it better suited to short bursts than long reading. The texture is consistent across cases, and the caps carry an especially authoritative, poster-like weight.
