A high-contrast serif with crisp, finely tapered hairlines and sturdier verticals that swell subtly into flared, wedge-like endings. Serifs are sharply cut yet gently bracketed, giving the letterforms a sculpted, chiseled feel rather than a purely mechanical finish. Proportions lean moderately narrow with a steady vertical stress; counters are compact and apertures are relatively tight, which increases density in text. Uppercase shows strong classical structure (notably the diagonals of V/W and the pointed joins), while lowercase maintains a traditional, bookish rhythm with a two-storey a, compact e, and lively descenders. Numerals read as oldstyle figures with noticeable ascenders/descenders, reinforcing a print-oriented, text-first voice.

Well suited to book typography, long-form editorial layouts, and magazine text where a classical serif texture is desirable. It also performs strongly in headlines and display settings, where the sharp terminals and contrast read as refined and authoritative. The oldstyle numerals make it a natural fit for essays, catalogs, and other text-heavy compositions that include frequent numbers.

The overall tone is traditional and editorial, projecting seriousness and authority with a refined, slightly dramatic contrast. It evokes established publishing and formal communication—confident and composed rather than casual or playful. The sharp, flared endings add a faintly calligraphic, crafted character that feels premium and literary.

The design appears intended to balance classical serif tradition with a slightly more carved, flared finish, delivering a formal reading experience with added personality. Its compact rhythm and pronounced contrast aim for a confident, print-forward texture that supports both continuous reading and elevated display use.

At larger sizes the pointed terminals and high contrast look elegant and incisive; in denser settings the tight apertures and thin hairlines can make the texture appear darker and more compact. The figures’ oldstyle movement adds warmth and hierarchy within running text, especially alongside capital-heavy titling.
