A robust serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and bracketed serifs that taper to sharp, triangular terminals. The overall color is dark and confident, with sturdy verticals, slightly flared strokes, and compact internal counters that keep letters feeling dense. Capitals are broad and stately, while the lowercase shows traditional, slightly calligraphic shaping—noticeable in the angled joins, the lively curves of s and a, and the strong, carved-looking serifs on stems. Numerals follow the same weight and contrast, with rounded forms that feel stable and set firmly on the baseline.

Well suited to headlines, magazine/editorial settings, book covers, and branding systems that want a traditional serif presence with extra punch. It can also work for short passages or pull quotes where a darker, more emphatic typographic color is desirable.

The tone reads classic and editorial—serious, established, and slightly dramatic due to the strong contrast and crisp terminals. It suggests tradition and authority, with a bookish, print-forward personality rather than a neutral, purely utilitarian voice.

The design appears intended as a conventional text serif pushed toward stronger impact: traditional letterforms and proportions paired with heightened contrast and sharp, sculpted serifs to hold attention in editorial and display contexts.

The face emphasizes sharp details: wedge-like feet, pointed spur accents, and energetic diagonals (notably in V, W, X, and y) that add snap in display sizes. In longer text, the dense weight and tight counters create a compact rhythm that feels intentional and emphatic.
